Neil McGregor BDS, MDSc, PhD

Neil is a registered specialist periodontist under the Dental Board of Australia. He specializes in periodontal treatment, dental implants and treatment of chronic pain syndromes.Neil gained his undergraduate dental degree (BDS) at University of Sydney in 1974. He completed a specialist degree in Periodontics (MDSc) at the University of Queensland in 1982. Neil then established a specialist practice in Newcastle NSW, with branch practices in Port Macquarie, Coffs Harbour and Tamworth in NSW. Neil gained his PhD at the University of Sydney in 2000 and has published over 50 papers in peer reviewed journals. He has been an editor of an international journal, on several editorial boards and has been involved in research at several universities in Australia (Melbourne University and Victoria University) and abroad in both dental and medical research fields (Stanford University CA USA, University of Nevada NV USA, Nova South-Eastern University, Fl USA). He has delivered lectures at conferences in both Australia and abroad. He is an Honorary Senior Fellow at the University of Melbourne in the Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry and Health Sciences and is a mentor for the postgraduate students in Periodontics at the University of Melbourne. He also is a supervisor of research projects for a number of these students. He is an Adjunct Professor at Victoria University. He is a consultant to a NATA accredited pathology company and has an academic interest in the science of metabolomics, microbiology, genetics, inflammatory mediated disease and chronic pain disorders.

Neil is a member of the Australian and New Zealand Academy of Periodontists, the Australian Society of Periodontology, the Australian and New Zealand Academy of Orofacial Pain, the international Association of Dental Researchers, the Australian Dental Association, and the International Team of Implantology.

In his spare time, he enjoys family time, painting and drawing.

 

Alice Huynh BDS(Hons), DCD(Perio)

Alice is a registered specialist periodontist under the Dental Board of Australia. She specializes in periodontal treatment and dental implants. Alice graduated from the University of Melbourne (2007) with BDSc (Hons). She than worked at the Alfred Hospital in 2008 where she gained increased experience in working with medically compromised patients and developed an interest in surgery. Since then, she has worked in private practices in Melbourne and embarked on her DCD in periodontics in 2012 at the University of Melbourne and graduated in 2014. Her research thesis was on the proteome (the proteins found in various tissues) of gingival fluid in healthy, gingivitis and periodontitis. This has been accepted for publication in a peer reviewed journal.

Alice is a member of the Australian and New Zealand Academy of Periodontists, the Australian Society of Periodontology and the Australian Dental Association.

Alice speaks Cantonese, Mandarin and Vietnamese.

In her spare time, she is an animal lover, enjoys music and outdoor activities.

Vivien Yeo BDSc (Hons), PGDip Clin Dent (Implants), DCD (Perio), FRACDS

Vivien is a registered specialist periodontist under the Dental Board of Australia. She specializes in periodontal treatment and dental implants. Vivien completed her undergraduate dental degree at the University of Melbourne in 1999, graduating with honours. She then worked in public and private practices in rural Victoria and in Melbourne. In 2009-2010, she returned to study at the University of Melbourne, completing a Postgraduate Diploma in Clinical Dentistry (Implants). She then embarked on specialist training in Periodontics at the University of Melbourne in 2014, completing her specialist training in 2016. Her research thesis investigated the occurrence of biological implant complications in private practice in Victoria. Vivien was also a clinical demonstrator in Periodontics for Doctor of Dental Surgery students at the University of Melbourne.

Vivien is a member of the Australian and New Zealand Academy of Periodontists, the Australian Society of Periodontology, the Australian Dental Association, and the International Team for Implantology. She is also a fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons (General Stream).

Vivien speaks Chinese (Cantonese).

In her spare time, Vivien enjoys travelling, playing badminton, painting and drawing.
